Addiction Treatment Modalities

Professional Drug Addiction Treatment Methods From the Comfort and Privacy of Your Own Home

The experts at Catalyst Recovery employ a wide range of at-home addiction treatment modalities to guide individuals on the road to recovery from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

Our Drug Addiction Treatment Methods

At Catalyst Recovery, we believe that alcoholism and substance addiction thrive in isolation but can be most effectively treated through peer-to-peer connection from the comfort and privacy of your home. With our approach, you gain access to a team of mental professionals who are committed to your success today and tomorrow by employing a range of treatment modalities, including:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

At Catalyst Recovery, we use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to focus on identifying cognitive distortions, negative interpretations, and thought patterns. Awareness developed in CBT aids in changing skewed perceptions and behaviors. It helps improve emotional stability and cultivates coping strategies that target problem-solving. In the midst of an addiction, addicts habitually return to drugs or alcohol to cope, but CBT helps them reorient those addiction-driven coping mechanisms around healthier behavior. CBT is also helpful for any individual struggling with finding their purpose and place in life.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Catalyst relies on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help program participants focus on regulating emotions. DBT is most helpful for individuals struggling with mood or personality disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alongside substance addiction. Our team uses DBT to facilitate change in behavioral patterns, including those tied to self-harm and substance abuse, thereby transforming destructive behaviors into positive alternatives. The core skills participants learn through DBT include mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal communication skills.

Relapse Prevention Therapy

Unlike process groups common in traditional treatment centers, relapse prevention therapy (RPT) from Catalyst Recovery is individualized and administered by clinicians specializing in psychoeducation. RPT aims to prevent relapses by helping the participant anticipate and plan for circumstances that may provoke risk-taking behavior or trigger addictive tendencies. Our approach to RPT helps participants develop strategies and skills to cope with personal moods and environmental triggers. At the same time, participants gain the awareness to measure their confidence in abstaining from unhealthy behaviors.

Couples and Family Therapy

Every family has a unique dynamic, and successful addiction recovery often hinges on a healthy, supportive family environment. We prioritize couples and family therapy to aid loved ones by improving communication and establishing healthy boundaries and expectations. We also help friends, family, and loved ones understand what they may be doing (or not doing) to trigger a participant’s addictive behavior. Our approach to couples and family therapy teaches the tools and skills loved ones can use to resolve conflicts, create a better functioning home environment, and promote more successful recovery outcomes.

EMDR Therapy

At Catalyst, we use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to alleviate traumatic memories. The processing of traumatic memories and life experiences facilitated during EMDR promotes healing with the goal of relieving distress and reforming negative associations. This therapy is also beneficial for reducing physiological arousal to triggering stimuli and is optimal for individuals struggling with addictions rooted in traumatic memories.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Along with EMDR, Catalyst also offers trauma-informed therapy to understand and cope with past trauma in a healthy way. Our peer-to-peer therapists work with participants to understand the connection between past trauma and their current struggles. By making these connections, participants gain an awareness of how past trauma can fuel addictive behavior and then work through that trauma to reduce trigger risks.
